I just wish to add that the EGA is the best monitor I have ever seen. It is capable of 640 by
350 resolution, the perfect resolution for computer games. It has two flash screens, so I
can populate one screen, and when the drawing is done, then just switch to it from the
other screen. Its beautiful for 80 by 25 text display, and it has at least 256 colors per pixel.
What more could anyone need? The colors are a lot less bright than modern computers,
leaving the eye much more relaxed. There are scan lines visible between the 350 vertical
lines, but those fills are needed for the most comfortable human to eye, eye to human
relationship. Displaying a pixel is as easy as writing directly into a memory address.
The computer is under the programmers' power without having to think about compatibilities
other than IBM PC-s. Everybody has an EGA card. Try it, what's its base memory location
for each one of its two pages? Take a C programming language, and switch your application
to EGA mode. Forget Windows.
