OT: Results from yesterday's treasure hunt
|
|
|
| If you don't know what I'm talking about, I suggest you read my post from
Sept 21st.
Drum roll please....
Yesterday there were 678 new visitors to eYardsale. Usually we average
about 300 new visitors each day. Here's a direct quote from my husband Dan:
"I don't know which to be - really distressed, or very impressed". If only
I could generate that much traffic without having to take my clothes off -
LOL!
Charles was the winner of the treasure hunt! Sorry there is no prize, other
than getting to see me in my all-together.
Thanks for so much fun yesterday - I spent the whole day laughing :-)
Take care,
Lori

interesting - I'd guess that a large number of the regulars (here in AWW)
have already visited your site and so wouldn't be counted as 'new visitors'

Please do share when you find a working alternative :)

Cracking job - well played!
Parish notice: it is usual to place what is known as a signature separator
before your sign-off/signature. The format is a new line containing only
"-- ", that is: dash dash space
Well behaved newsreaders do this automatically so that other well behaved

'Tis an interesting prize nonetheless. I /can/ see why your husband
didn't know how to feel though - I wouldn't want you showing a picture
like that to folk if you were my wife! Of course the fact that so many
people were interested in seeing his wife naked could be a good thing, I
suppose...
> Thanks for so much fun yesterday - I spent the whole day laughing :-)
If it were my picture that folk were looking for I would have spent the
whole day worrying that someone would find it :D

It's very likely that Lori will actually pay attention to our by-laws
too... especially considering that she is so far the only one to have
fallen for *cough* erm I mean obeyed the one about showing us naked
pictures before feeling too at home. ;)

Really? do you think many would look for it? SCNR
Remember many months (years?) ago, we did a cross domain treasure hunt (in
another place) as a birthday quest - I never heard, did she complete the
task?

Nope, she got stuck on the ASL puzzle (which I believe was produced by
SarK?). She certainly didn't get as far as my musical notation challenge
(which I appear to have removed now anyway).

You did well.... here's what I found:

I'm thinking those 4 visitors is me 4 times.
Check the raw logs - you'll find 82.169.233.66, 4 x 38.5 = 154 times.
I had a little help with finding the pic btw, I'd have given up

Thank you! I have to admit to some stress about people seeing this pic.
I'm really not an exhibitionist and my friend had to talk me into putting
this picture up on her site. I only agreed because you can't really tell
that it's me.
The "treasure hunt" was totally spontaneous and afterwards I had momentary

Plus no naughty bits. :)
Pardon me if I wax a little poetic, but the female form is perhaps the
most beautiful thing in creation. The male form definitely has merits as
well, properly presented, but I think it can truly be said that there's
no such thing as an ugly woman. I really like pictures like yours and
Nicole's. I find Nicole's especially appealing, as I like women's backs.
> The "treasure hunt" was totally spontaneous and afterwards I had

Well, you certainly spiked your traffic for a day or two! In fact, if you
put a notice on the front page stating, "Somewhere on this site is a link
that will lead to a picture of the webmistress nude," I doubt you would
ever lack for traffic. :)

Nicole is absolutely beautiful (inside and out), and I'm really pleased with
myself for capturing her beauty so well. I completely agree with you about
the female form. The lines and curves on a woman's body are fabulously
artistic and beautiful.

Bannar ads usually are of a certain dimension, 400 by 80 pixels or some
such. There are plugins and browser options that discard images with that
dimension.

You shouldn't be at all concerned. I was trying out a few things with my
browser, which resulted in me blocking any images that came from
directories such at "*/ad/*" or "*/banners/*" and so on.
Needless to say, the Web looked more naked than yourself once all the
adverts were gone!

Well yeah, but I'm still a red-blooded male. It's a good picture, btw,
and as rf said (somewhere else) your friend is a good photographer.
I can't see many other regulars deciding to post similar pictures
though. At least there are a great many that I hope won't be inspired to
do so!

hey - the job description for "president of Lori's fan club" includes
"raising awareness" and "generating enthusiasm" - nowhere does it mention

picture of me with a female friend (getting very affectionate with me)
who has no clothes on (73749 bytes for those who care):

I think the one of me I posted a link for probably confused some

Gah! Why did I *have* to click that link? <sob/> My eyes! My Poor eyes! :(
LOL, it was an excellent example of real life imitating art though! It
It does, however, raise the question of who took the picture and what
did you tell them it was for?
