A friend of mine had 301's set up when he moved his domain and he lost his
PageRank entirely, along with traffic in general. I am always scared of
such changes, which will be interpreted differently by different services,
e.g. Technorati.

At the moment I think that there is no solution that involves no cost (in
terms of time or traffic). My site is non-profit (only losses at the
moment, all in the spirit of Open Source), but losing traffic means that
'Linuxers' will fail to find troubleshooting information, which would cause
my heart to sink.
