Arne's webcam is a great weather predictor for me. Whatever they have, I
get later!
(FTWDK The webcam is in north Sweden, I am in Scotland.)

Well Charles, are you sure about that? :)
Looking at the satellite images here:
http://www.aftonbladet.se/vader/js/satellit.html
the clouds comes from the south west this time, it even looks like
it's cloudy in Scotland at this moment but England and Wales have a
clear sky!
It's windy here and the window where the webcam is, is getting hit
very hard by the rain. But as I'm now located 200 km's south from the
camera, I have no rain and even rather sunny at the moment. But the
temperature is far from summer warm.

About 200 km's north from the Pajala webcam an other webcam i
Karesuando shows that the ice on the river just left.
http://presentfixer.axiscam.net/
Karesuando is the northernmost churchvillage in Sweden, 250 km north
of the Arctic circle and 180 km from the nearest town, Kiruna. The
other side of the bridge you can see on the webcam, is Finland.

A question just out of curiosity, since my knowledge in English
becomes little short here :)
I wonder about what you mean with "car towing a trailer", since I
don't see anything that I can say fits in to that.
I belive I know what a "car" is (motor vehicle for personal transport)
and also what a "trailer" should be. Have an idea for "towing" also.
But since the meaning of the words can be several things, depending
how and where they are used, the "car towing a trailer" can be just
about anything that I don't understand :)
Since this area have lot of forests, there is also a lot of
long-distance lorrys (trucks) for transport of the timber on the
roads. But also, belive it or not, a lot of Norwegian long-distance
lorrys driving thru on their way to northern Norway with all kind of
gods.
They come from south Norway driving on the Swedish roads all the way
up to the northern Norway, because the roads and fjords in Norway
makes it more difficult and driving thru Sweden is time saving.

You could replace 'towing' by 'pulling' to understand the meaning.
(speaking from a non-English background - I think pulling would be the
wrong word to use in English - in Dutch pulling and towing both
translate to 'trekken')

yep - it would be a car (as you described it) towing/pulling any other
non-motorised vehicle behind it - possibly a caravan or a trailer-tent.

Arggggg! My bad spelling again. I guess "goods" make more sence :)
By the way, is "pull" and "poll" pronounced (almost?) the same. I have

poll sounds like pole and rhymes with hole/whole/goal/mole/role/roll
pull rhymes with full/wool

Why re-invent the wheel? One dictionary site already has .wav files
for each word. Look for an audio icon:
"Merriam-Webster Online":
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictiona...tionary&va=pull
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictiona...tionary&va=poll
Note:
JavaScript needed to access the audio files. I can't get them with
Lynx.[1] :-(
[1] At least not without downloading the page source, translating the
JavaScript to get the URL for the sound file and then hoping that
they don't block referrers outside their site for access to the
audio files.

Note: It won't offer a wav for compounds like "cost-push"; you'll have

Thanks. I'll check that one out. By the way, the .wav files at
http://www.m-w.com/ *are* accessible with lynx by plugging in the
URL fragment in the JavaScript URL after the hostname. Also,
downloading the source and changing action=post to action=get in
their selection form for similar words (looking up "resume" gives
you a popup menu with a choice of "resume" (which is "resume") and
"resume[1]" (which is "résumé")) also allows you to bookmark the
selected item.
They report that some browsers have problems using their URLs with
accented characters:
"Merriam-Webster Online" [Audio Pronunciations FAQ]
http://www.m-w.com/help/audiofaq.htm
[snip]
: * [6] Does the audio feature work with Netscape 6 and 7?
[snip]
: Does the audio feature work with Netscape 6 and 7?
: Yes, but the audio will not play automatically when you click on the
: audio icon. Follow these steps to play an audio pronunciation in
: Netscape 6 and 7:
:
: 1. Once the pop-up window opens and loads fully, click on the link:
: "Click here to listen with your default audio player".
:
: 2. Select the "Open using..." option and click the OK button. This
: opens the default audio player used by Netscape 6 and 7 and plays the
: audio pronunciation.
:
: Note: Entry words with special characters (such as é and ç in "démodé"
: and "limaçon") may have an audio icon, but the icon will be
: unresponsive when clicked. This is due to the way Netscape 6 and 7
: renders special characters when they appear as part of a URL (Web
: address).
[snip]
I can't tell what the problem is here unless both Netscape 6 and 7
actually send un-escaped high characters as part of the URL when fetching
a page. Lynx defaults to using %-escaped UTF-8.
Converting their URLs for "résumé" audio files from this:
"java script:popWin('/cgi-bin/audio.pl?resume02.wav=résumé')"
to these (using entities, %-escaped ISO-8859-1 and %-escaped UTF-8):
and this:
"java script:popWin('/cgi-bin/audio.pl?resume02.wav=resumé')"
to these:
all appear to work with Lynx. The webmaster at m-w.com (and any other
webmaster with similar problems) would probably be able to eliminate the
