Author migrating to apache

Can anyone recommend any good migration tools for websites. I'm currently
running an intranet site (which is essentially just a bunch of html pages
linked together...no scripts or anything special in them) on a SNAP server.
It looks to me like it is a UNIX/Linux based system but the webserver is
definitely not apache. I've set up a Mandrake 10.1 server & loaded apache
on it. OK, so far so good.

The problem I've run into is that our current site is full of spaces & mixed
cases; something Apache doesn't seem to like. What it looks like I need is
something that will go through both the file names & all of the html links
changing spaces to underscores & changing all cases to lower.

I've looked around on the web a bit but haven't come across anything that
will do both the changing of the filenames & the html coding.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Joe

There probably are some around. They would be a script. What you need done
is the type of little mass changing text thing that unix/linux loves to do.
Almost any system admin book or "how to do scripting in xxxxxxxx" book
would have examples of doing those. Im fairly sure that it could be done in
sh, bash, csh, awk, sed, perl, c, or just about anything else the system
has loaded for use. WHichever of those you feel comfortable with you might
include as a keyword on a search for a script

If it's urgent - throw it up on an IIS server temporarily - they are a bit
more tolerant.

Not sure if there is such a thing, but there are many text editors that
have the facility to search and replace (some will take RegEx) over many
files.

The problem is that I've got about 900 pages that need to be checked. I'd
rather not have to do them a page at a time if I can help it.

Do some Googling and see if InfoRapid Search&Replace is still available.

Multi-Replace is a small prog that I use. Has no problem with that
many pages at once. It was freeware when I got it, but I believe it's
shareware now, or evaluation version or something:
