hiya,
I'm a dotnet programmer who's looking to get a bit more creative.
I've seen a site where a .GIF image is loaded as the background to webpage:
http://www.asp.net/CommerceStarterKit/

the gif is displayed on the LHS, and is mainly black with a red stripe.
Can anyone suggest any free tools that I can use to create similar GIFs?

I do not use any design tools (apart from vis studio)..
Any free stuff / trialware suggestions much apprecited :-)
