Author Use a shared host or colocated server?

Hi Guys --

Do those of you who do web work for businesses use shared hosting or a
colocated server? I'm starting to get a side business started, and I'm
not sure which route to take. I'm thinking until I get enough clients
to pay for a server and monthly fee's, the $25 a month I'm paying now
works great for shared hosting (through Page-Zone), and though I know
how to manage and administer a Linux box, it'd be great to not have
this hassle.

Thanks for any pros and cons of both scenarios. Thanks --

We started with shared hosting and then when we had enough clients /
sites we went out and got three servers (one for the sites, one for the
mail and one for the databases)
