Author Evil Frames example

The best example I have ever seen of why not to use frames - google for
catinadogsworld and look at the cached version of
http://www.catinadogsworld.com/ - as of right now it is a blank page for me.

Related in my twisted way of thinking is my discovery of an excellent
example of why not use graphics for text (especially links). Computer
Associates firewall blocks any link away from the site you are on if it
is a graphical link - not a text one. (This observation is not
throughly tested, but certainly seems to be true.)

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is it such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet?

The site loaded fine for me using Mozilla 1.7.12

Maybe you are the 1 with the problem.

Click Google's "cached text" link to see what Google's spider sees when
it visits the site. Another good example is Google's copy of
<http://www.georgerrmartin.com/>.

Do you mean to say this affect all workstations on the CA [W]LAN or
workstations protected using a CA firewall product?

I can not believe how dense I can be some times - Read and re-read your
comment before I (think) I got it. I do not work for CA, I just have
their firewall installed on one win xp machine. If you go into the
firewall options you can set the ad blocker to display the ads - but the
default is no display.

Aha - in which case I suggest the good and kindly folk over at
news:comp.security.firewalls may be able to assist.

"Cat In A Dog's World", http://www.catinadogsworld.com/

That's not any more evil use of frames than a lot of other (stupid) sites
I have seen. Now *this* page with frames that I replace my home page with
from time to time is evil:
http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~af380/protest2.html
(Lynx users see very little difference.)
