Good adSense just what % do I get?
|

| I just signed up for google adSense, and am confused about
something. Just what is the basis on which adSense figures out how
much to pay me. is it CPM, CPC, percentage of revenue), or what?
I know that Google's advertisers bid differing amounts on various
keywords etc. But how would I know why I am paid as much as I am paid?
thanks

There is no whay to tell. You get paid a % that I believe only Google knows.
I am guessing the better the CTR is the higher you are paid.

No one knows. Just enjoy a good thing and don't question it...

Thumper would be inclined to disagree with that philosophy.

Its effectively a % of revenue, but as different advertisers bid different
amounts your takings vary wildly from day to day.
The actual percentage is not revealed by Google, and may well vary based on
advertiser/turnover/Sergey's mood.

Your guess is as good as mine. I did, however, conduct some research in
hopes to make an informative decision about whether or not to get AdSense
onto a site with a particular main theme. As a result, I think that Google
pays the publishers 25-30% of the cost of that keyword (in that position)
to the advertisers. It may be the case that they dynamically change the
percentages, depending on Google's tactical financial goals. Such as: end
of quarter tax due soon - get the % higher to pay less taxes and keep
publishers motivated. Shareholder's meeting soon - lower the % to show
more profit on the books. Just my humble opinion, don't base any business
decisions on it. Go figure for yourself ;-)
Sincerely,
Dmitri
