Web Host for sale?
|
|
| Kris Cote 2005-01-21, 11:17 pm |
| I have a few places that I look for these types of business's for sale, but
I'm not finding what I'm interested in. Any suggestions of online mailing
lists, or websites that list these?
Thanks,

I would say THE place to find web hosts for sale is WHT:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com
..

Look at webhostingtalk.com We've purchased many, many hosts there.
Buying a host there is better than spending ad dollars to gain fewer
customers.

You won't - typically these businesses go to the wall first, then the
residue is sold off in a panic. ok, not always - just mostly IME.

Put yourself about, go to places where web hosts hang out, WHT has been
suggested, there are plenty clones.
Local CoC may be a good place to pick up gossip on local traders.
Make it known you are in the market - all my acquisitions have come from
personal recommendation/introduction.

Yes, that is true in a lot of cases. However, at webhostingtalk.com you
absolutely can find good deals. The ones I'm buying are generally one-man
operations who actually care about their business and have run it very well.
They hit that first growing pain bump and realize they either need to take
it to the next level...or turn it over to someone who can handle it. These
are the ones that are worth buying.

Never ask a host about their day job.

But "pimp" generally wouldn't qualify as a *day* job....

Those are what I'm after, I found one there I'm looking at.
I've been looking through mailing lists on internet.com and have missed a
few but most are outside of my budget or size limitations.
Thanks for your help.
