Best VRML Authoring Tool?

| I need a quick way to put annotation like trail names on a VRML model of a
mountain. I tried the Flux Studio beta. It's pretty good, but then when I
was trying it on a large file, I couldn't get the overlay to display on the
model, and I need a solution quick, preferably this weekend. Any
suggestions? It doesn't have to be native VRML, just be able to import VRML
2.0.

| Import your VRML world into Pharus 3D builder www.int3d.com ( maybe you will
need to regolate the lighthing)..
go to list/textbased/text... digit the annotations on the virtual keyboard
and than ADD it to the scene.
In "build" mode place it wherever you want.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Pharus and it didn't work, didn't show
anything. Maybe I didn't have the right plugin.
But I went back to my model and reduced its size using a decimation
algorithm, and now it's working fine. Funny how you don't usually need as
much model detail if you've got detail in an overlay. Still, it would be
nice if Flux Studio didn't have those limitations.
Getting past those limitations, however, Flux Studio made the labeling of
trail names much easier. I was doing it "by hand" before, editing the VRML
file with a text editor. Also, I was able to make a nice little animated
fly-by, though I haven't yet learned all the idiosnycracies of the
interface.

| Looking for a vrml editor? then get over to www.parallelgraphics.com
This is the best tool on the planet. Please also be warned it is
Russian and may scare the pants of idiots.
Parallelgraphics, as any OCONUS, is difficult to spot from the US...
besides, I had a confirmation, from an eminent VRML (ahumm... X3D)
list
activist, this very day, that using Cortona is a suspicious deviance,
since
it's Russian ...

OCONUS means "Outside Continental US". It doesn't mean stupid. It has
to do
with security issues. I challenged their purchase of your solution
because
you do have a long history of slamming Americans and in a security
system
where even the Americans have to sign agreements that promise to never
divulge the contents of the system, that attitude and your close
relationships to ParallelGraphics present problems.
Jeeziz there are some real sad bassarts out there. As a Brit and
totally upstanding chap I can vouch that PG is one brilliant and
outstanding company.
