Author Difference between OpenInventor and VRML?

Hi,
can anybody say what's the difference between the OpenInventor file
format and VRML1.0?
I know VRML is a subset of OpenInventor, but what's that part that they
have kept out from the VRML standard?

Thanks in advance

Jonas
