Author Small objects distant from the world center flickers...

....following the discussion in the other thread about hud and proximity
sensor (http://snipurl.com/fs4n) I've discovered what could be the
problem, and maybe someone else have already faced something similar...

The fact is that when i put small objects (size in the order of 3-4 in
vrml unit measure) in a location far away from the VRML center (let's
say 1.000.000), those start to "flicker" in a very weird way...

The same thing happens when I use a Layer2D or Layer3D and the camera is
far from the vrml-center: the more distant is the camera, the more is
the flicker...

*ANY* help would be greatly appreciated...and I really mean *any*, also
another work... ;)

The set of articles linked from here:

http://www.surak.com.au/~chris/Prec...isionInVRML.htm

describe the fundamental problem your encountering.

As for a solution, there are a variety of approaches - scaling, rearranging
the transform hierarchy - but they all involve keeping the distances within
the precision limits of the (float) data type.
