| Hello
I have made a conectoin betwen a x3d file and java class, using a XML
x3d based exemple. But in the section SAI tutorial of the xj3d site,
all the exemples of x3d files are not XML?
Can anyone tell me what is the diference bewteen this?
Thanks
Nuno

You talk about files starting with
#X3D V3.0 utf8
????
Currently, there are 2 forms of X3D in the standard drafts:
X3D encodings — ISO/IEC FDIS (Final Draft International Standard)
19776-1:200x (XML encoding)
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/specificat...DEncodings-XML/
and
3D encodings — ISO/IEC FDIS (Final Draft International Standard)
19776-2:200x (Classic VRML encoding)
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/specificat...gs-ClassicVRML/
There is also a draft about binary encoding.
The basic idea about encoding is having different syntax, but same content.
There are attempts to build looseless converters from/to different encodings.
AFAIK, a encoding translator is part of the Xj3D project, but currently,
it looks like the encoding standard drafts are yet one minor stage before
final publication....
