Just count the number of 3D-Modellers/Authoring tools for Web3D that are able
to write/export VRML97.
If you are not talking about Web3D you are true. In the CAD/CAM software field,
other formats are more wide spread.

Why it is it impossible to work with NurbsPatchSurface ? It is just a
renamed VRML97 Amendment 1 NurbsSurface node with additional close flags.

Hi, Joerg!

I have tried defining NurbsPatchSurface, but I haven't come to any good
results... Maybe its because of plugins, but latest Flux and Octaga
didn't help me. Maybe you can show some good examples of Nurbs in X3D?

What if you take a wellknown VRML97 Amendment 1 file, like

http://developer.blaxxun.com/develo...t/nrbduck_0.wrl

throw away the EXTERNPROTO statement and replace all occurence of
"NurbsSurface" with "NurbsPatchSurface" ?
