Does anyone have instructions for or examples of VRML applets made with
Java 3D? I'm getting bogged down trying to figure out how to do it. I
know I need

1) a Java run-time environment,
2) the Java 3D extension,
3) the Java 3D VRML loader, and
4) the VRML file itself.

But how do I put all this together to make a web page that displays the
VRML file in a user's browser without requiring extra plugins or
software to be installed? Can I provide JAR files for users who don't
have Java 3D or the VRML loader installed?

Try searching on Google for <VRML EAI example>.
I'm sorry, I don't have any more EAI example on my computer.

I just know that you need the vrml.jar (or .zip ?) containing the
classes for controling VRML scene. This package can be found on Google
too.

hi Darren Oh,
Here is a link to the *most* - as far as I know- examples of
EAI on the web:
http://tecfa.unige.ch/guides/vrml/examples/eai/
Btw this whole site is a must book mark imho.

Olivier is right, just search this group for the term "EAI"
to find the sad truth about it. I could post all the dirt here
again and again and again.
but right now I type "M$JVM not Sun JVM" in my sleep.

EAI is useable in a controlled enviroment ( like institutional use )
but it really is not for main stream users. Windows XP SP2 and
later security updates have made the headaches even worse.
I still joust the windmills though with Deep Matrix EAI multi-user
applet
at http://www.sevenemeraldtablets.net, http://www.deepmatrix.org
and http://www.cyworx.com
