| Probably a long shot, but has anyone been able to successfully install
Blaxxun Contact on either Mozilla Firefox 0.9 OR Mozilla 1.7.1.?
I downloaded the setup file from Blaxxun's site, ran the install, but it
only seems to get installed on Internet Explorer. I'm Running Windows
2000 w/ SP 4
Thanks.

I've installed Bitmanagement BS contact 6.1, so it runs on Mozilla
Firefox now. BUT...
I've noticed some rather annoying glitches
When trying to view WRL files in Firefox 0.9 and Mozilla 1.7 The view is
off center and the view also keeps disappearing (ie. the view keeps
flickering and becoming blank / white) when navigating or rotating the
scene. However this does not occur in Internet Explorer 6 /w SP1 and
everything appears to run OK in that particular browser.
I've tried updating to the latest nVidia drivers, no change.
eg. when trying to view
http://bitmanagement.de/developer/c...bmw_reflect.wrl
Using Internet explorer it appears to be OK. But In firefox, Half of
the Car is off the page.
Has anyone managed to get contact 6.1 properly working under the latest
Mozilla browsers?
Also, does the chat functionality
(http://developer.blaxxun.com/vrml/home/ccpro.htm) of Contact 6.1 run on
browsers other than Internet Explorer? Internet Explorer runs okay,
but Firefox, it's no go. (haven't been able to find anything in the help
documentation about this)
Thanks for any assistance.

Never dealt with Firefox. However blaxxun 3D chat does
work with both Netscapes 7.1 and 4* as well as later Opera.
This may depend on the version of blaxxun community server.
You can expect to crash alot though, not just with 6.1 but all versions.
My meager understand is that it isn't Contact perse that causes the
crashes, rather the ActiveX chat.
BTW isn't Netscape 7.1 in fact a variant of Mozilla?

I suspect Firefox and Mozilla are returning invalid screen
width/height values when it initializes the plugin. If you look a the
screen you will notice that exactly 1/2 is missing from the
right/bottom of the Viewpoint.
The screen values returned after initialization are correct however, I
managed to get the screen to update properly as some point.
Oh and the same happens to the BXX chat window.
The wierd white screen is obviously another bug in Firefox and
Mozilla. I have tried to report these problems to the development team
but their forumns are overloaded and thusly impossible to post
messages to.
Basically the people writing the ActiveX plugin code for Firefox and
Mozilla are only intested in getting Flash to work for them. If you
can actually get hold of them, no mean feat, please tell them to fix
these problems also.
