According to http://www.web3d.org/news/releases/archives/000092.html
the next generation VRML will come in October 2004.

Do someone know, if the defect link in this article intended to
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/specifications/ show the latest version of the
standards ?

The "X3D encodings" document from 2004-07-21 is marked as "Final Draft",
so this looks reliable.

What is the status of the more important document "X3D framework & SAI"
from 2003-12-16 ?
