Hello,

Are there 2 softwares named AvatarStudio (one from Canal+ (TV channel) and
another from Blaxxun), or is it the same soft ?
Because on the Blaxxun website, they are just talking about a A-S v1.0, but
I have ever heard about A-S v2.0 ...

???

Bye

Canal + (not just Tv Channel but mainly known for that)(and good tv
btw :-) made both avatar Studio 1 & 2. Blaxxun made a special version
of version 1, mainly aimed at Cybertown.com and such (that's why there
were some differences, like the interface in english instead of
french, or not being allowed to remove all the clothes of the
character).

You can download both versions 1 & 2 of canal+ at:
http://www.web3d-fr.com/Avatars/Ava...io/Download.php

There are also patches available for having the features/objects of
v.1 in v.2, or convert the interface to english, etc, at:

There is also a Korean version. Mostly yellow skinned, dark haired avatars
with baggy clothes. Truly.

Once you understand the basic layout of the application, it does not matter
so much which language the interface is in. It is probably version 1.5.
Features like "walk" and "idle gesture" were added to 2.0, and I think the
2.0 code works with more browsers that just Contact.

You can make/add your own texture libraries, and some folks have added
customized geometry to the default avatar (erm, like male parts and stuff).
Poke around in the directory structure and see what is there, it is
inspiring.

And I thought the Blaxxun version was too modest.

Yup version 1 put the ROUTEs in wierd places which other VRML browsers
and even VrmlPad doesn't like. Version 2 also fixes animation
problems.

Any ideas on where/how to activate this missing geometry ? Sort of
hard to figure out what was commented out.

There are around 2,700 files in Avatar Studio so not surprised there
are hidden items etc.

127.0.0.1

Hiya Mr.P and Paul,

French Canal+ Avatar Studio 1 and 2 and Blaxxun Avatar Studio 1 can be found on http://vrml.alleyweb.co.uk and http://ziekerdanziek.tk (under 3D Modeling) Under tutorials you can find several links to great websites like those of Mr.P and Paul. Under Plug-in's You can find plugs to join Canal+ Av Studio 1 and 2. And a plug-in that adds extras to and translates your French Studio to English.

Greetings, Ziekerdanziek ( There is no place like 127.0.0.1 )
