If you need it only for testing purposes, you can simply use the
mesh reduction feature of NurbsSurface nodes to produce such VRML files.
E.g. when you use white_dune, use
"Create -> Shape -> Sphere"
"Actions -> convert to NurbsSurface"
Then click to u/vTesselation of NurbsSurface in the fieldview
and enter e.g. number like 300/300
Then use
"Actions -> convert nurbs to IndexedFaceSet"
and save the file. Then wait a longer time (using a network filesystem
would be not a good idea) till the file is written.
According to the cosmoworlds meshreducer, a Tesselation of 300 leads to
179400 triangles.
