I am creating a web site to sell my product on the net and I want to use
vrml in order to create more interactivity for my customers.I also have to
use server which is equipped with Linux/Unix/BSD Operating System. Can I
use vrml in my web site? I read somewhere on the Internet that Linux
doesn't support vrml or I guess plug-ins such
as Cotrona or Contact(Bitmanagement) doesn't support vrml in Linux
environment. It might be a stupid question but since I am new to it I
appreciate If someone explain that if I embed some vrml in HTML and use
Linux server then viewer cant see the vrml file in his computer with BS
Contact or it means if you have Linux system then you cant see vrml worlds
in it with BS contact and you need different plug-in such as freeWrl.
Please also refer good sources to learn more.
Thanks

Using VRML on a web site is simply placing files into a filesystem tree
and tell the webserver about the MIME type (if not already working).
There is nothing operationsystem specific about it.
AFAIK there are also several VRML java based multiuser servers like
vNet/vNet+ or deepmatrix, that can be used on a UNIX/Linux server.

There are several offical VRML plugins and standalone browsers for
UNIX/Linux, like FreeWRL, openVRML or CyberVRML/CyberX3D.

Cortona is running under MacOSX (which is a full featured UNIX too).
Cosmoplayer is running under SGI IRIX.
