if you look on my site,

vrml.portland.co.uk

i've got whats described as 'VRML physics simulations', the only thing there
at the moment is some early beta code which simulates pneumatics, but i've
used the idea for a whole range of dynamics, trajectories, ballistics,
collisions, molecular gas simulation and ball games, all VRML ( by the way
javascript is fastest in blaxxun contact.) This could in theory do 'real'
simulation of 10 pin bowling ie produce pseudo chaotic ball to pin and pin to
pin collisions with recoils/rebounds etc.. but would be too slow for a game in
real time.

but if your interested is in crown green bowling or one of it variants, i
think my dynamics engine could produce a playable game, and with a greater
potential for 3d in this type of bowling, with various camera angles etc.
might look quite nice.

but as far as some javascript with algorithms optimised for a game, ie
focusing on visual effect and speed rather than accuracy, although not the
most experienced VRMLer in the world i've got some ability with javascript,
games and dynamics. i've actually just started on a very simple car driving
game in SVG, which i see as VRML's 2d cousin, where i'm faking 3d in the great
tradition of early game development.

send me your world and i'll try to recommend to you the least painful approach.

simon.

p.s. have to warn you, i don't like seeing poor dynamics in games.

Maybe me world
http://www.geocities.com/bfisch.geo/Vrml/VRMLballs/
helps you. The world is controlled by Java classes however (EAI). Tested
with CosmoPlayer and CortonaViewer. Sources are available at the bottom
of the page.
