You could 'inspire' yourself from this beta game:
http://www.wildpeaks.com/vrml/no_cache/weihnachten03/
(it works fine in Contact, Cosmo, Cortona, and Pivoron :)
(btw, models were done and exported from 3dsmax using the
bitmanagement exporter (which is based on the blaxxun one of course)
and it works fine in other browsers too as i didn't use extensions ;)
There is sphere to sphere collision and sphere to box collision
(specifically written for the game, but easily adaptable) because of
the obstacles on the playground and between balls (it misses taking
account of the object's velocity when colliding however aww).

First click the "click here to start" text (because i never have time
to finish it, but the rest is already nice looking :) then you see a
green bar on top that shows how much time left you have before the
next round. During that time, prepare the movement of each of your
spheres (you are the blue, the computer is the red, the heart is a
special ball).

For preparing a movement, click the ball, then roll your mouse over
the playground, you'll see that it displays an arrow (if it doesn't ,
click the ball again) and click again when you're happy of the
direction and strength (the longuer arrow, the stronger).
When the countdown is finished or if you click the green glass bar,
the balls are launched.

If a ball goes in one of the two goals/big holes, that ball is dead
(whichever it is). If the opponent loses all its balls, you win. The
contrary if you lose all of yours. The special ball (with the heart)
doesn't move by itself, only when pushed by other balls. If it falls
in the opponent's goal (the one that is far), you win. And of course
you lose if it falls in your goal.

The opponent is a bit stupid for now, so chances are that you
will win :-)
I'd like to make a multi-users version too, that would be funny imho.

PS: there is also a midi music player on the top of the game with
christmas songs only because i wanted to do it for that moment.
