| one last thing I forgot to mention, when my world loads up, the view is the
right distance from the ground. When you begin to walk however, the view
drops to the floor as if you're crawling on your belly.... does anyone knwo
what causes this?

Possibly the false use of units of your VRML exporter. In VRML, all units
should be in meter, the size of the avatar is also measured in meters.
You can change the size of the avatar in the NavigationInfo node.

scale is wrong.
MAX defaults to inches which is stupid really. You need to set it to
metric (meters) in the unit setup part of tools and make sure you do
the same to system default units.
