Author Interrogating vertex position to fix objects

I was recently trying to fix a broken IndexedLineSet object and
IndexedFaceSet object.

Q.1 What is the best way to determine the position and index number of
the broken vertex or link spar? I ended up writing a quick HUD
display with a position interrogator -

Maybe there is a VRML editor pad that automatically displays the three
vector SFVec3f() coordinate position and the index?

Q.2 Has anyone written a script that temporarily labels all of the
vertices of an IndexedLineSet object or an IndexedFaceSet object with
their positions and index numbers?

Apparently this widget works under Cortona but the pointer-indicator,
a plus sign in the foregoing near screen center, is not displaying
CosmoPlayer. I am still working out the CosmoP compability issue.
