Hi NG,

is there a possibility to have an VRML2.0-scene displayed inside an applet ?
(with full access to nodes (create, append, delete, listen to events etc.))

Thanx in advance
Torsten

There is a Open Source VRML browser, that runs with java3D (and maybe
other 3D mechanisms (OpenGL) in future)

http://www.xj3d.org

I think, this is sufficent to get access to any node.

so long

ps: asking such a question will cause a long posting of Mr. Flavin about
his variant of Xj3D 8-)

Yes. :-)
BS Contact J is a Java applet that can do all this.

Since a java applet must be as small as possible, some nodes
are not supported.
E.g. Script nodes are not supported. But there are methods on
the applet that allow a JavaScript in the embedding HTML page
to create and delete nodes, set values of fields and respond
to events.

See a few examples and documentation on:

.... and an advertising of Herbert Stocker for our java3d free
applet, lol.
