Beginer. WRL in Java from Canoma
|
|
|
| I have been trying a couple of programs.
D- Sulptor
Canoma
Photomodeler
In D-Sculptor I have no problem, it exports HTML with Class files and NO
viewer needs installing.
Canoma produces quick good results but exports WRL and other formats.
Can I use these wrl files in a Java scipt in a way that a VRML viewer dosn't
need installing?
OR has anyone any other ideas on one of the other formats being better.
Go easy on me, I get there with my basic knowlege.

| Hey Grebo,
I'm newer to all of this, so take this with a grain of salt.
I checked out those programs, very cool, I've been looking for things
like that. As far as I understand it, they give you the ability to
export vrml files. If you don't want to use a plugin to display vrml
files, there are a couple of java possibilities. One I have heard a lot
about it using sun's java3d vrml loader. You may have some luck asking
this question on the comp.lang.java3d list. I also have heard of
Shout3d, and I believe that ParallelGraphics has a loader called Cortona
Jet.

BS Contact J is a java applet that renders VRML.
It does not even require java3D to be installed on your users machines.
Have a look at
http://www.bitmanagement.de/?page=/..._contact_j.html
and http://www.bitmanagement.de for a few examples,
and contact me or info@bitmanagement.de for downloading an
evaluation pack or if you have questions.
