| Can anyone spot the issue(s) NS 8 might have with this CSS, which has
passed the W3C Validator test?
Thank you.

Netscape 8 in Gecko mode? Or Netscape 8 in IE mode?
Is Netscape 8 the only browser with the problem? i.e. have you tested it in
(e.g.) Opera and ensured that browser doesn't have the problem too? (Since
if Opera has the problem, then its likely you are depending on a bug in IE
to get it right).
What markup are you applying that stylesheet to?

Netscape 8 has an "IE mode"? You've got to be kidding.

'Fraid not. Use your favourite search engine for details.
Netscape +/- AOL seem to have turned the gecko into a dog's breakfast.
Try e.g

(but you may want to check that your cookie and flash defences are
armed before doing so :-{ )

Erm, why bother viewing a page *at all* if it won't function properly
in Firefox? And certainly NOT try to resolve the problem by dropping
one's security defences!
The article goes on to say:
|Second, under certain circumstances Netscape 8 displays distrusted
|sites in IE mode, opening the door to browser hijacking attempts.
|When you use a search engine that Netscape displays like Internet
|Explorer, the browser stays stuck in the less-secure IE mode as you

|
|The only clue that you're browsing with your shields down is a little
|blue "e" icon at the bottom-left corner -- until, of course, a
|hostile site tries to take over your machine.
Need I say more? Well, that article says it for me:
|It's not as if installing Netscape will even permit you to de-clutter
|your computer by uninstalling other browsers. As long as you run
|Windows, you're stuck with Internet Explorer. And it's going to be
|easier to keep a second set of bookmarks in IE for the dwindling
|number of IE-only sites than to put up with this sorry successor to
|Netscape.

I hate AOL - and crying over Netscape browser :-) :-|
They've got a soldier - defeated but having all its old glory - in in
the few years in their labs they transformed it into bisexual slut.
Only the old skin left, all inside is replaced. Reminds me the
"Screamers" movie.

Yep, I read it. My primary comment is <*gasp!* /> The part I liked best
was "...this is a train wreck in its own right."
On the bright side, I was never an AOL at all so it's nice to see they can
be really stupid outside their admittedly-effective market ploys.

Please read this page. Thanks.

On that page it says you should quote to avoid annoying other users. If
you get annoyed that easily you probably better find another hobby.

And I am guessing you did not read the page, in order to learn how to
quote *correctly* using GG.
You apparently don't realize that the overwhelming majority of us are
not using the GG "web page" view of Usenet. In order to find out what
you are on about, we have to refer to the previous message you are
replying to, which may or may not be on our news servers.

Some people don't bother to pass along advice; they just killfile all
posts from Google Groups, including yours. Your choice, of course.
