Author Please critique my Portfolio site

I finally have the Second version of my portfoliosite online at
http://koti.welho.com/jpohjanr/

Please critique layout and functionality of the index and the 2 top
portfolios.

Notes:
* It is meant for screen/desktop resolutions over 1280x1024
* No javascript. No flash. Pure XHTML1.0 Strict & CSS.
* Made with Ruby!
* Ignore the older galleries.

I have yet to figure out what domain-name to reserve.

I like the site, and I like the artwork.
Consider providing thumbnails, so people can
choose what they want to blow
up, instead of depending on the title only.

You might want to move the navigation to the left side
of the page where it is more often seen, but this is not
of primary importance -- it would just save visitors the trouble
of moving the mouse pointer over to the right side from the last
site they visited.

Nice to see work by someone who doesn't think an art site
has to be in flash.

Nice, thanks for visiting! I considered thumbnails, but decided to go for
more slide show type of thing. IME it only takes about a second or two for
page load even over the atlantic.

Another consideration I also had, decided to go unorthodox - "right hand
menus" it is. Anarchy!

No plugins or javascript needed for this one!

They are not mutually exclusive -- you can add thumbnail size images
to each link. The other thing that occurs to me is that the people who
like the more expressive work may not like the op pieces, and vice versa.
It would be a good idea to at least separate those so that visitors can
choose which they want to see.

This gives me an idea. A hovering rollover thumbnail. No need to redo the
layout! Thx!

Ok, thumbnails finally implemented. You can see the newest version of the
portfolio with thumbnails here (returning visitors, remember to reload!):
