I need a website developed - and maintained. Yes, I could probably struggle
through and develop it myself
but I don't know everything that needs to be done to
have the site I want.

We will be willing to pay the webmaster - $50 / month
on an ongoing basis to keep our website up and running
with changes etc...

If you are interested - please send a resume and some
URL's so we can see your work. Please put the
following in the Subject line: Med-Well Website

Sooo... you have less than an hour's worth of updates every month, right?
Or at least, not more than several hours?

:)

What kind of site is it ?
Does it use shopping cart ?
Is there a need to know PERL / flash / asp / PHP / c++ / java etc
Do you supply the graphics / text and tell the webmaster where it goes
etc ?
Are you restricted to any web tools (I once did work for someone that
HAD to use netobjects fusion)

These as well as the doormouse's questions do need to be answered
before anyone can tell you if they can help. Although you are asking
for it to be done on the cheap. You get what you pay for ;);)

wush.... you're mad. Most designers charge over $50 an hour... have you
any idea JUST how much work is involved in this sort of work?

You could maybe get a pretty basic site designed for you for $500 +
something per month for updates. If you're lucky. Pay anything less and
you'll end up with rubbish and you might as well build THAT yourself :)

My fee starts at $250/month for ongoing maintenance, and that includes 5
hours worth of work. $50/month isn't worth my time.

This appears to be as money losing proposition to any web designer
stupid enough to take it.
