| Hello:
I'm hoping that someone could help me.
I have built a site for a client using html that is a very simple design.
The bottom of the page is a navigation bar and the top of the page is the
content that changes when you click on one of the links in the navigation
bar.
Well, they didn't like the way I built it with a new html document loading
each time you clicked on a link because the navigation bar and logo reload
every time you do so. They don't like the reload and the way it looks So,
they asked me to redo it using frames (I know they are evil, but I had no
choice) and so I designed it using two frames inside a frame set, top and
bottom.
Here's the problem, when the browser window is resized the design is
drastically altered. For example, if you make the browser window full
screen then the bottom navigation bar moves down causing a big gaping whole
in the middle of the page. If you make the browser window smaller, the
bottom frame sucks up the top frame..
So, my question is, can the page be designed using frames but restricting
the change in design when resizing of the browser window?

Yes it can be done easily, but we really need your URL to identify what is
causing the problem in your case.
It may be something as simple as a mis-placed image or an incorrect tag,
but until we can view your mark-up we can even try to help.
If you don't want to post your URL on the group you can email it but please

He means a URL link (website address - http://www. etc .....) so we can
examine the page in detail to see what your problem is.

Problem has been sorted. Lyn was using text within images, not *real* text,
so her original page wouldn't flex properly between different sized
browsers.

Do you mean the text *was* a bunch of images? That's probably why the
reload of the logo was so noticable in the original design - she can
probably go back to a non-frames design now she's using real text! :-)

Exactly that.
I also informed her that text as gifs was not 'Search-Engine' friendly, so
hopefully she will redo it all as *real* writing.
