The graphic is good enough, and the general appearance is, too
(save the horizontal scrolling).
Your HTML information sources are older than dirt.
It's no use wasting time on details before you
get an overview:
See w3.org, alistapart.com, realworldstyle.com,
and useit.com.
Learn CSS and keep it in a separate file.
Don't use popup windows -- especially if you
have not carefully set a version of every JavaScript
navigation item between <noscript> and </noscript>.
Verify.

Listening to your site you seem to have a major problem with
'alternative text' on your images, either:
(1) alt text is missing, or
(2) alt text doesn't match with the text on the graphic, or
(3) alt text is superfluous and should be set to ""
We can go into specifics if you want, but I'd suggest you just have a
quick look through your code and make the obvious changes.
regards
ps. If you're going to open a new window, it's nice to let the listener
know in advance.
pps. a quick run through a grammar/spell-checker will pick up the odd
typo ;-)

Dark white on red. Hmmm. If I were googling for something and came across
this I would immediately press the back button.
Cheers

another random layout site. Lots of wasted potential.
You have some talent, if you did some reading.
Don't be random. You could rock.

There's *always* a more presentable website
where you can get the information :~)

In the case of my reader, by adding '(Opens in a new window')' to the
alternative text 'Visit www.krogstad.org' already with the image
"images/krog1.gif".
At present, I hear:
------------------------------------------------------------
Krogstad.org came to me looking to make an updated web site for their
Memorial Golf Outing and add a few more points of interest for the
webmaster
. . . .read more <--{spoken in a 'link'

If I *really* wanted the information then I would fire up lynx.
Besides, in this case (say I am looking for a web/graphic designer) the
unreadable text is all the information I need to decide to choose somebody
else.
Cheers
Richard.
