Any comments to the Cucumberhead?
|
|
|
| I am new at this and would welcome some opinions. I know I am light in the
content department but that will change with time. Any suggestions on a
layout for the links page? And there is no "about" page yet. Thank you in
advance!

All that content on the links page ... why is it contained with a
<blockquote> element?

I like it. It's different, and I found myself reading it all the way
through.
A bit of commentary is good on a links page, especially if you're
listing your favorite sites.
It could use breaking up into smaller sections though. Perhaps a small
section for each link, with suitable commentary included there?
<h1>Links</h1>
<h2>Ebaum - Single line description</h2>
<p>Check ebaum. There is some pretty funny stuff on his site. I spent
one night rolling on the floor, tears gushing and sides aching laughing
about this. See, I know guys like that. He also has some Where's Waldo
stuff. You should give it a minute, but do try it.</p>
Repeat for each link. Alter your H1/H2 styles with CSS.

| The truth is that I was anxious to get a page up and didn't really start
with a plan. I just opened up Front Page and started typing. I knew that I
would be changing it soon, so I wasn't really worried about the layout just
yet. I am now getting a better idea how I want to do it though. Thanks for
looking at it..

| That is an excellent idea! I think I will do just that. To often I find
myself reading a links page not knowing what the links are for. I will take
your suggestion.

LMAO. That's a first. I agree, they don't make much sense. In my haste I
didn't take the time to find appropriate dingbats. I knew I may may change
them, and now I will think harder about that. In my defense, I did use <alt>
tags :-)

Please don't top-post. Look it up in your favourite search engine to find
out why.

It's not about layout - that's up to you and your visitors browser.
blockquote is for quotes:

There are other, more appropriate ways to define layout.

What is wrong with plain text links?
BTW you *do* know where the term Mystery Meat navigation comes from? No?
http://webpagesthatsuck.com/
Not that your site sucks. Just that it is hard to figure out the naviagaion.
More specifically, anywhere inside that huge graphics I click I get a 404,
possibly because about.html is absent.
Cheers.
Richard.

No, you've raised yourself above a large variety of idiots by learning
this lesson.
