| Hi all,
I have been working on this site for a while now.
I am posting on this newsgroup for honest reviews please.
I will be working on the store link with accepting credit cards online. So
any tips for making an online checkout would be helpful. I will be using
Miva Merchant to do that.
Thanks for your time,
Mike Pratz

Wow ... it's the fifties again!
I'm not gonna pick on you today. Your page is obviously sincerely meant to
represent their company. It's got a few issues with visibility and layout
though. Given the product, i'd say that the web page is consistent with the
branding.

Several of your pages link back to themselves, which is a usability no-no.
You set font sizes to rather low values, which is also a usability no-no.
If you're viewing the site on a large monitor with Verdana as your default
font, you're going to see the text as much bigger than most people will see
it. Resist the temptation to shrink your font sizes in response.
Several of your design elements (mostly headings) are presented with an
underline that will make most of your viewers assume they're clickable,
which is not the case. It's quite hard to tell by looking at your site
what's a link and what isn't.
Hovering over a link should not render its text unreadable.
Your opening page should *be* the homepage, rather than just linking to it.

I like this, all things considered, it works well, I would make the nav
bar bigger; maybe put little packs of gum between the links as seperator
elements. :)

Nice idea, but the navigation isn't nearly clear enough. Took me a few
seconds to find it.

It looks really bad, I'm sorry to say. Also, descriptions like "This is a
Choward's hat" aren't very... descriptive. You need a site structure, and
with it a navigation menu that is constant and easy to reach. The layout is
non-existent, so I think the best thing you could do would be to put one
in - this will also mean that visitors won't be greeted with pages needing
lots of scrolling to see all of your products.
As a starting point, you might want to look at sites of companies similar to
yours.
