Author Deserialization Order

I have some large data transfer objects and I would like to force some
properties to be deserialized after the others. If I use the
XmlElement(Order=n) I must set this attribute for all properties even if the
order of the first 50/100/1000 another properties doesn't matter?

In the other hand, I see that the order of properties in the code of
serialized class is the order of the properties are deserialized. It's a rule
and I can use this or it's just a coincidence and don't a documented feature?
