I am unable to install this software. I had the software installed
previously but had to re-image my hard drive and now it is gone. I'm not
sure that is relevant.

Anyway, the error I get when trying to install is:
1. The feature you are trying to use is on a network resources that is
unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the
installation package 'XmlNotepad[1].msi' in the box below.
Step one resulted in the following error:
2. The path 'C:\Documents and Settings\....etc' cannot be found. Verify
that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the
installation apckage 'XmlNotepad[1].msi' in a folder...
Step two resulted in the following error:
3. The older version of XML Notepad 2007 cannot be removed. Contact your
technical support group.

When I try to uninstall the XML version which is in Control Panel I get the
same error from Step 1.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,
cj

At first I thought you might be clicking on a link to the isntaller, due to the error and
the [1]. Anyway, you might search for 'windows installer cleanup', this will allow you to
remove the old version of XML Notepad. You may have to remove the registry and files
manually, but this will cleanup the old data. I would have to say, that the re-image
didn't work, if you still have info from XML Notepad in the installed programs list. I
also don't know what version of MSXML this program requires. Ensure that your system has
all updates.

The "Windows Install Cleanup Tool" did a wonderful job. Thanks so much.
