Author WordML - why no use of hlink?

Hi;

When I create a hyperlink in Word, it saves it in WordML using
<fldChar>/<instrText>/<fldChar> ... <fldChar>. Why does it do this instead of
using hlink (which is what the docs show)?

Hi Dave,

First of all, I would like to confirm my understanding of your issue. From
your description, I understand that you need to know why WordML doesn't use
hlink to identify the hyperlink. If there is any misunderstanding, please
feel free to let me know.

I think this is the default behavior of Word. We're not quite sure why Word
uses this, since it is by design.

Hello;

Could you please ask the Word group as it is different from what is
documented. I want to make sure I am using fldChar when I should and using
hlink when I should.

thanks - dave

Hi Kevin

Was there ever a resolution of this problem? I am trying to do something very similar with hyperlinks in word (2003) documents and am finding the results to be erratic, sometimes with hlink etc and sometimes with the field code instead.

kind regards
