Author DOM and correctly freeing memory

Hi.
Using DOM to construct fragments of XML, based on arrival of data. If I create a node, then add it to another node as a child, can I call Release safely on the new node's interface? Supplementary question; if I release the document root node, will it dest
roy the document content correctly?

I will be generating LOTS of fragments, so I'm anxious to avoid leaks!!!
