I wanted to add a page to my website document and right clicked on a page and
did create duplicate page. I wanted to make changes to the page so I double
clicked on the clip art image to change it. My mouse dissapeared and the
page completely froze up. Weird thing is it never said not responding. My
mouse worked outside of Publisher just fine. I did a control alt delete and
pulled up task manager and shut down the page 4 times and then started from
scratch as above. Last time I tried, I thought maybe it doesn't like the
image I selected so I deleted it rather than clicking on it and then went to
insert photo from clipart. Same result Pubislher is frozen. Again it's not
saying its not respinding. I'm assuming my clipart connection is no longer
working to the point it locks up the whole program. Anybody have an idea of
a fix? I'm afraid to try it again. I'm ready to throw the computer.

Clipart is Mary's area of expertise, but I will venture some guesses until
she comes along...

Have you tried to insert clipart into a new publication? Do you get the same
problem?

Perhaps: How to troubleshoot a damaged publication in Publisher
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/198256/en-us

Or perhaps: Have you tried a detect & repair? It is found under help. Or go
to the Control
Panel, open the Add or Remove Programs, scroll down to Office, click change.

Sometimes, depending on the file type changing or adding a new piece of
clipart can cause a temporary freeze. If this happens it will not say the
system is not responding. Try opening the clipart in a blank word page and
then copying and pasting it into the new site.

Another problem can be caused if you are on a network which would slow the
picture upload. Sometimes you just have to wait it out.
