how do I go from sitename.org/index_files.htm to sitename.org?

| I am creating my first website using Publisher 2003 for a friend's
not-for-profit organization. We want people to be able to access the site by
typing in the sitename.org.
I click "Publish to Web"
Then "Save in" and go to FTP locations.
When I try to save it in the ftp:// location of my choice, it tells me the
folder is a "read-only" folder. So, it then gives me a sub folder to save in.
The site loads fine, but you have to type in sitename.org/index_files.htm
because if you only type in the sitename.org it gives an error page.
ANY help would be VERY much appreciated!!

| When you rented space from your web host, you should have received a set
of instruction on which folder to upload files to. There are various
ones, including but not limited to public_html, httpdocs, publicdocs,
even your username.

| Thanks, but there was no such mention from the host. They are absolutely
atrocious and I wish my friend hadn't used them. Anyway, I digress. Thank
you for your time.

| What is the company's name? Sometimes they have instructions on their site.
