Adding a personalized hyper link to an image
|
|
|
| Hello
I am getting to know Publisher. I am currently trying to send an e-
mail to a
bunch of college. I have made a personalized hyper link, and that's
just
fine. But I like to make an personalized hyper link on an image.
Is that possible at all?
Please do help me - I'm getting quiet frustrated scrolling through all
the
menus looking for a solution... :)
Thanks.

| You insert a hyperlink into an image, object etc. just as you do with text.
Select the object > insert > hyperlink. Whether it will survive the
conversion to an email is another question.

I think you have misunderstood my question. I would like to merge ex.
the name (from the CSV-file) into the link. Ex. http://homepage.com/hello.html?who=billy
.... Do you know what I mean?

| I know how to merge data, and I know how to make an personalized
hyperlink. But I doesn't work on a image. How can you make a
personalized hyperlink on a image....?
Not an ordinary hyper link, but an personalized hyper link.

| Sorry I am out of answers. I don't know how, nor even why you would want to
do such a thing.

| Why do you want to make a personalized hyper link? THAT is the reason
I want to make a personalized hyper link, but just on a image!

| Are you wanting to have an image on a webpage that when you click on it will
bring up Outlook Express with an e-mail address already in the To: box?

| Hi Don...
No...
In Publisher, you can send e-mails, personalized e-mails so you can
make a personalized hyper link. Ex. if the mail is send to
person@domain.com you could make a link in the mail called:
http://myhomepage.com/web.shtml?who=person@domain.com .... So you
could make a personalized homepage. I don't want to make a website, I
just want to make a personalized link on a image, in publisher. When
you make a link on a picture in Publisher, a dialog-box a cures where
you can type a url or what you want to link to. But I can't make a
personalized link, like I can if I just make a normal link with text.
is it not possible to make a personalized hyper link on a picture??

| I do some editing on another website, Dreamweaver I think and it allows
links of the type when working with soEditor. There, they are called
"anchors" but I haven't found a way to do it in Publisher (2000) created
sites yet.
Before long, some of the MVPs will probably jump in and offer suggestions.
