I have created a web site using microsoft publisher 2003 in the web design
template, but when trying to upload into a free geocities site i get an
invalid file type notification. how can i convert the file into html which
would be compatible for upload using publisher?

What type of html output is required by geocities? Publisher defaults to an
index.htm and a index_files folder for html output. You can save the files
with the .html extension if you want. What about that doesn't work in
geocities?

I'm having a similar problem with Publisher 2003. When I publish to the web,
the program creates links that look like this --
src="file:///C:\index_files\image8511.jpg" instead of
http://www.sitename.com/site_files/pagename.htm. Of course this doesn't
appear until you've uploaded everything to the ISP and try to make your home
page link to another page in the site. What am I doing wrong??

Thanks!

In the future I would recommend that you not post your question in another
thread...it is more likely that you will get an answer if you post it
separately.

Perhaps this article will help...it sounds like you are writing your links
to a file on your computer. Scroll to the bottom of this article:
