Microsoft Publisher - wmp distorted, skipping audio

wmp distorted, skipping audio

My laptop came with wmp 10 and all was ok. Then an came an update I did not
ask for and now I get that annoying distorted, skipping audio ( video is ok )
only if I am running a CD. Music played from HD is ok. I have tried the error
correction but did not work.

JoAnn, thanks anyway. By the way, why web designers so obssed with graphics
while no one does not know that someday the gizzlion-band not the broad-band
will freez .

Can't answer that. I maintain a website (using FrontPage) but I don't think
I'm all that obsessive about graphics. I keep my site relatively simple
because I still have dial-up visitors. And that means no music on my site
and no squirrelly-swirly cursor trails! <UGH!>
