Uploading Images to site

| I believe that I have tried everything. When I preview my site, it looks
fine. When I follow the instructions to upload (ftp), that all seems to work
fine. But, when I go to my site the pictures are not there. They are .gif
and .jpg files. The tables come in fine and the links even work on the
"broken" pictures. Am I uploading the picture files wrong? Do they have
some type of protection on them since I borrowed them from an affiliate site
(actually I am the affiliate and am trying to use some of the owner's
pictures on my site)? Nothing seems odd about the pictures. I used the
Publisher "check" command (I forget what it called exactly) and It says that
there is nothing wrong with my single page site. I use godaddy as a host and
they say to use ftp.
Please help.

| If you are getting a red x where the images should be, then yes, you
probably haven't uploaded the images. If not, then its possible that your
images are too large, and they are simply taking a long time to load.

| Thanks Guys!! I figured it out!! Something that probably seems like common
sense to the knowledgable as yourselves, was not so common sense to myself.
When publisher made its own files out of my picture files and put them in a
folder, I was trying to upload them individually outside of the folder or I
was placing the index file in the folder. I didn't realize that you upload
the index file and then upload the entire folder containing the picture files.
No one ever said that in everything I've read because I guess it is common
sense. But, to me, the common sense approach was to have all the files
(including the index file) all in the same folder or all out of the folder.

Actually if you look at the source code it does look like it was produced

The splash page looks like Pub, but look at the rest of the site.

I just went to my site and a couple of the pictures have the infamous red x
again. Why would
they start working fine and then go away? What can I do?

You are right. I only created the first page to mymatchnet.com. I became an
affiliate to match solutions. They provide a site for you but i found that
it would be hard to advertise www.affiliate/matchsolutions.com/khj237.
So I created my own page so that I can advertise www.mymatchnet.com that
links directly to my affiliate site.
It just made good sense to me.

| Did you compress your images as suggested? Have you tried to empty your temp
internet cache? Are you using a dial-up connection? You images load just
fine for me, so they have been uploaded.

| Yep, as the OP replied, he is using Pub for only the first page. Actually I
think this is one of those times where using Publisher might very well be
the "right tool" for the job. I know...I know, I risk the rath of all by
suggesting that in this case a butter knife might be all the user needed
;-). But I do think it is a pretty creative use of the tool...

| It is working fine now. I called someone last night when it wouldn't come up
right. They looked at it and it came up fine for them. I was using an air
card to get online maybe my connection was bad.
Thanks for the help and the compliments on the usage of my little one page
site.
