How do i convert the file type *.htm(default) to *.html

Hi Friends,
I am facing a peculier problem the default file extension is
htm after we publish but is there any method to change the file extension to
html. My domain provider is not supporting filtered htm format.

Index.htm and index.html files should be interchangeable. However if you
want to change the default, then when you go to publish your site and get to
the Save In dialogue window, then rename the index.htm file to index.html
and all your other pages will also default to *.html.
