Loss of Bold print in Adobe Reader

| 'Got a Publisher 2000 website where we have available a form in pdf format
for viewing, copying and downloading.
Here's the mystery: When viewing or printing the form with Adobe Reader,
connected to the Internet the Bold title looses the bold. But if you
download the file and print it the Bold is fine. Is this a bug in AR or
Outlook Express 6? Can't be Publisher??

Solution; Dropped Adobe Reader, now using Foxit Reader.

| As you know, Publisher will create faux bold for fonts that doesn't actually
have a bold font in the fonts folder. I read somewhere Acrobat can't create faux
bold or italic.

| If you mean Adobe program, I don't have. I use Publisher 2000 and then
create the pdf with PDF-XChange. Adobe Reader at times shows the text in
bold and other times, with the same file doesn't show bold. When AR shows
bold it will print out in bold and when AR fails to show bold it doesn't
print out in bold.
I found Foxit Reader is more reliable than AR and has the added feature of a
"typewriter" which you can add a note to the pdf document. The free version
will let you print the document with the note and the modestly costing pro
version will also save the file with the added note. Another advantage is
Foxit Reader is less than 2 megs in size versus AR which is 20 megs plus.
Sometimes we don't need a Lamborghini when a Cadillac will do. :-)

(Maybe the failure to show and print bold in AR might be my computer;
graphics card? Even so, 'took the economical solution, patch, fix,
work-around).
