Publishing to web problems

| I have read all the threads and tried the suggestions but still have the
following problem with Publisher 2003 when I "Publish to the Web": Hangs when
carrying out task: Saving as 'ftp://............/index.htm'
I have tried all the following:
(1) Running "Design Checker" - all ok
(2) Web preview - all ok
(3) Publishing to a folder on my PC - all ok
(4) Tried accessing the host site through an FTP Client - all ok
(5) Removing the FTP connection and starting again
(6) Compressing all the pictures (I have lots of photo galleries on the site)
(7) Unchecked the "Enable incremental publish to the web"
I am getting increasingly frustrated - please can someone help?!!!

| Actually I have just tried again and it seems to now all work!
I think the key to sorting this out was clearing out the files that were
there under the FTP address, compressing the photo files and removing a
couple of page hyperlinks that were not working properly!!

| Sorry now seems to working ok now! I cleared out the files under the FTP
connection and that seemed to do the trick...

| Thanks Claire, I ran design checker, fixed some suggested issues and
compressed my images as well, all appears good for me as well. Im curious
though, when my files were uploading (saving) the status bar did not move
across the screen and there was no indication that my index_files were being
copied either.
