I am building my webpage in publisher 2003 and I have created some pages that
I want to be viewable only to consumers purchasing my services or
information. How do I create login's and passwords to give to people already
activated because they are paying in stores. Meaning I need the user id and
password to come with my package, so when people get home they can easily
access the information. Also, how can I make it so that once consumers
purchase my service online, afterwards will receive a user id and password to
access specific pages? Can I create user names and passwords or do they have
some sort of program that can do it for me? Does anyone know if I can get
this program for free if there is one and how? And can I set it so that the
user id and password is only good for a specific amount of time? If anyone
can help I would appreciate it.

The quickest and most simple way to secure a page or pages is to create a
restricted access folder. This is a server side function that most web hosts
support (typically managed thru their control panel). This is stated in the
FAQ - http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=30 - and also in a
thread posted a couple of days. Be sure to make use of the FAQ and review
previous threads in this newsgroup.
Publisher is designed for a small simple static web site.
If you need to maintain customer data and login data, that requires a
database driven (aka dynamic) web site. That falls under the realm of web
programming - versus web design - and is well beyond Publishers scope.
If that is what you want to pursue then visit http://www.asp.net
