Editing a Pub 2000 website with Pub 2003
|
|
|
| I have some websites that were created in Publisher 2000.
I have tried to edit the sites with Pub 2003 in 2 ways.
If we open the original Pub doc with 2003 we can edit it,
but when we go to save to the website it says something to
the effect that the location is already reserved. I have
figured out that this is because there are already files
there. If I delete the exsisting files I can save it,
however only the main page is saved. The subpages are not.
So I tried to edit the HTML pages that 2000 had created
and published, problem there is that all Office 2003
applications view a lot of the text areas we want to edit
as a picture.
Any ideas on how to update these?
Thanks
Eric

as of version 2002, all files other then the first page are in a subfolder.
Look for it. This is covered on the FAQ -

do not manually edit the html.

All updates are done in the pub file. You then publish locally or to a
server in Publisher. You can publish with or without the sub folder option.
