Author Special Effects for Publisher?

2004-03-09, 7:29 pm

Thanks so much for providing this forum!

Can you fill me in on any special effects that I can
incorporate into my web site to jazz it up a little.

I'm aware of shadowing, tool bars and the norm, and mainly
interested in effects that can enhance...

I would like to use something already built into Publisher.

Anything that comes to mind is appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Steve,

Just to throw my two cents worth in, remember K.I.S.S. when thinking about
'jazzing it up'. If the pages take a long time to load because of too much
'jazz', then people won't stay around. If the page is too cluttered, they
might miss your message, etc., etc. There is a web site that I read that
discusses some of these things that you might want to peruse before you add
a lot of 'jazz' (besides David's site and links to web site design):

David Bartosik - MS MVP

David gave some wise advice.
In addition to that I'd suggest visiting sites on the web, mainly the bigger
well known ones and take notes on what they do and don't do.
More direct to your question, Publisher has no dynamics effects if that is
what you seek. It only supports static pages. If that doesn't meet your
needs I'd suggest FrontPage.
